PROPOSED RTS JOHOR BAHRU (MALAYSIA) - WOODLANDS (SINGAPORE)
2012
Rapid Transit System (RTS) Link connecting JB Sentral in Johor Bahru, Malaysia, and a station in the vicinity of Republic Polytechnic in Woodlands, Singapore.
The RTS will provide a double-track shuttle link of approximately 4km length serving 2 stations at both ends, Woodlands, Singapore, and Johor Bahru, Malaysia.
For economy of scale, the shuttle link system shall leverage Singapore’s proposed Thomson Line system and depot. This RTS Link is to be a convenient and cost-effective system that is well integrated with transport services in both Woodlands, Singapore, and Johor Bahru, Malaysia.
The proposed RTS Link shall have a co-located Customs, Immigration, and Quarantine (CIQ) facility in Woodlands, Singapore, and Johor Bahru, Malaysia, so that commuters need to clear immigration only once from each way of travel.
