Monosist have been involved with 3 consecutive proposals between 2003 to 2007 for  the Detail Study and tender submission of Penang Monorail Masterpan.   The project have never been materialised. 

Nevertheless, the team has spent a vast amount of energy, exploring  every technical possibilities to produce a workable and effective design solution in a complex urban context.

The design of the Penang Monorail station revolves around the coherent complexity of urban geometry derived from the legacy of colonial heritage.  The interlace of glass and metal on  station facade creates engaging architectural dialogue between the old and the new.
