In 2008, a local Nigerian investor called for an open EPCC tender for the 20 km monorail line across Lagos.  Monosist was part of a consortium engaged to prepare a comprehensive initial engineering study.  The study was subsequently compiled as part of a document for the EPCC tender.   The typical elevated stations are mostly located along the road median where access to stations are designed on both sides of the thoroughfare.  The open concept with a lightweight building envelope is adopted for the hot and dry climate of the city.  Strong color tonation is prominent in projecting Lagos 's unique identity while form and construction details are kept simple and minimalist.
