The 6 storey Operation & Control Centre for the KL Monorail System is located on an irregular  shape of land.    

The solution is to compose the footprint into a series of triangulation and find a possible match of the jigsaw that can possibly form an efficient layout for office plan.  Once the geometry established, spatial zoning is identified.  The office zone is divided into 3 sections – the private & executive section, the general operation section and the service area.  An atrium is inserted into the building leaving an optimum depth of 10 meter working space all around.  This arrangement allows penetration of natural lighting from the atrium and the external perimeter wall direct into office working space.

• The project was submitted by Ruslan Khalid Associates with project team lead by  the Head of Architecture Department in KL Monorail Project Services Sdn Bhd who is currently a director in Monosist.
