The 6 storey Operation & Control Centre for the KL Monorail System is located on an irregular shape of land.    

The solution is to compose the footprint into a series of triangulations and find a possible match of the jigsaw to form an efficient layout for the office plan.  Once the geometry is established, spatial zoning is identified.  The office zone is divided into 3 sections – the private & executive section, the general operation section, and the service area.  An atrium is inserted into the building leaving an optimum depth of 10 meter working space all around.  This arrangement allows the penetration of natural lighting from the atrium and the external perimeter wall directly into the office working space.
